Entrepreneurship for Hospitality is a subject which exposure
student to consumer behavioral studies and legal constraints, influencing their
business start-ups. In this subject, we are expected to run a hospitality
related business with a new concept defined and present it to our lecturer. It
is an interesting experience for us. I have gain a lot of knowledge regarding
open a business in the future. This subject can help me to avoid less mistake
if I am interested to open my own business in the future.
Skills that I required to complete Entrepreneurship for
Hospitality is Interpersonal Skill, Communication Skill, and Thinking &
Problem Solving Skill. Firstly is Interpersonal Skill because this semester
require me to work in a team for assignment. And to have a good team work, we
need to communicate with our team member and it also can help improve our
communication skill. As a team, we tried to analyse all the problem and help
each other to think of an effective solution.
I found it challenging to work as a team as we need to analyse
every members working style. Some member work in a faster pace than other
member and we need to considerate with each other as we are still in learning
stage. It is also hard for me to communicate with every member because of language
barrier. They all come from a different background or culture therefore some of
their accent are difficult to understand because I’m still improving my English
too. Even though there were a lot of difficulties in finishing the assignments
given, I still found it as a good experience for us to discover how things
really work out there. We can also help each other to finish the work faster by
helping each other.
As a group member, I still need to improve in a lot of aspects. I
need to communicate more with my group members so there will be no
misunderstanding in the future. This is part from something that I didn’t do
well in the assignment. I also need cast aside my fear to voice out my own
opinion when we are having a meeting.
